María Bernad (Elche, 1995) is a creative director, stylist and designer who lives in Madrid, although due to her international projection it is common to find her in any fashion capital. Her Instagram profile, where she has more than 312,000 followers, opens a window to her particular vision of fashion and its aesthetic references. María has a very particular style, where arty references, a timeless spirit and a lot of her own personality are intermingled. Her weakness for retro aesthetics led her to found Les Fleurs, a sustainable vintage clothing firm, more than a year ago. With this seal, María rescues old garments and gives them a second life, impregnating them with her unique sensibility. Graduated in Fashion Design, the it-girl has been attracted to this universe since she was a child. “My grandmother and my mother have always sewn at home. They let me choose the fabrics and I have had the privilege of wearing the dresses that my grandmother made for my mother when she was young”, she says. That is why when the time came to decide what she wanted to do with her future, María did not doubt it for a moment: she wanted to make a job out of her passion. The young woman feels a predilection for brands that defend the concept of slow fashion (slow fashion) and usually bets on artisan or author designs. He is inspired by Monet or Matisse, he loses dusty colors and has an individual vision of fashion that is far from trends. “I always try to look for the most authentic of everything and with fashion nowadays, which goes so fast and there are so many fast fashion brands, vintage is the only thing that remains”, he reflects.
